Why we built Splibble
Every group has been there. The bill lands, everyone goes quiet, and one person ends up doing mental arithmetic over cold coffee while another quietly underpays. Someone covers the gap, chases their friends for days, and the whole thing leaves a slightly sour end to a good night.
We thought splitting a bill should feel as easy as the meal itself. So we built Splibble: scan the bill once, share it with the table, and let everyone claim their own items in real time. No spreadsheets, no "who had the calamari?", no chasing anyone afterwards.
What Splibble actually does
Splibble is a tallying and tracking tool, not a payment processor. It digitises the bill, lets each person claim exactly what they ordered (splitting shared plates between whoever shared them), works out each person's share including their tip, and shows everyone who has marked themselves paid. You pay however you normally would — Splibble just makes sure the numbers are right and nobody slips through.
Fair by design
Everyone pays for what they actually had — not an awkward even split that punishes the person who had a salad.
Effortless
Scan, claim, done — in less time than it takes the waiter to bring the card machine.
No more chasing
See who's settled at a glance. The days of being owed "I'll send it over later" are over.
Who's behind it
Splibble is built and operated by SmythTec (Pty) Ltd, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa. We're a small team that got tired of being the one who always covered the bill — so we fixed it.
